Vympelcom looked to meet the growing demand for value-added billing services and to secure its leading position on the national market.
The Reksoft team closely collaborated with the customer project manager in specifying the billing subsystem requirements. Upon completion of the requirements analysis, a proper system architecture was designed. All modules that interacted with the external interfaces supported the same format in data exchange as the core of the system. This secured high scalability of the system as well as the option to quickly add new interfaces. The employed system architecture supported high-scale integration with the portal services and other external systems. The system provided JMS-based interface, which was specially designed to service the integration needs. The system was implemented for Java 2 Enterprise Edition platform and could operate on both Unix and Windows operating systems. The integration was based on the industry de-facto standards: Message Oriented Middleware (JMS) for communication between the billing subsystem and external systems and XML-based format of data transmission.
The project team was formed in a very short time had successfully completed development, testing, deployment, integration and acceptance tests, as well as administrator and user guides for the developed subsystem.
A cost-effective flexible billing subsystem was implemented and deployed for the first Russian mobile portal with open, non-proprietary technologies ensuring high performance, scalability and easy integration with other business applications, all within the set project time-limits.
The implemented billing subsystem allows our client to provide timely, accurate billing for newly introduced services, improving customer experience and increase customer loyalty.
