IDC, the market research and analytics agency, recently reported that the Russian ERP market had reached USD 236M in 2005, demonstrating a growth of 21%. That corresponds well with the previously projected market and segment trends. Since the largest IT demand and spending originate in large enterprises (mainly energy, telecom and transport sectors), SAP ERP has the largest market share in terms of volume - 39.7%, surprisingly followed by Oracle - 21.7%.
Small and medium-sized companies enter the new era of business maturity, requiring new types of business support systems. Therefore the real battle is happening in the mid-market, where Microsoft presses the domestic 1C system. These companies have secured 9.4% and 9.7% of the market volume, respectively. Other minor domestic products stand for another 3 percent share of the market.
Both domestic and international analysts agree on following - Russian ERP market will grow at the rate of growth of the Russian IT market, overall, which come out to approximately 28% of annual growth.
