Microsoft Russia boosts sales and talks about piracy decline

Microsoft reported a sales increase of 72% percent, featuring the improvement of general environment in Russia. The positive trends relate to dramatic decline in piracy in combination with rising income, all fueling the demand for licensed software products.

In talking about piracy we would quote Microsoft officials:

"Russian consumers and companies are investing in the development of software and the piracy level in the country is decreasing a lot faster than in other regions of the world," Microsoft Russia chief executive Birger Steen says.
