Enterprise Content Management Best Practices Brought to St.Petersburg University by Reksoft

As Reksoft pursues the strategy of training students from St.Petersburg leading technical universities, the company started spring term in St. Petersburg University of IT, Mechanics and Optics with a training course on document management systems. A new educational track prepared by the experts from Reksoft ECM practice combined the basics of Java technology, an overview of the enterprise content management best practices and hands-on exercises in application development.

Students, who have completed the training classes with excellence, are offered a job position at Reksoft and join the fast growing ECM practice. Members of Reksoft ECM practice are engaged in more than a dozen of projects on EMC Documentum platform for both Russian and international customers.

SAP Development Course Launched at Reksoft Training Center

For the first time, Reksoft Training Center has offered a customized course on ABAP development. A comprehensive curriculum was developed for Training Center’s freshmen by Reksoft SAP team.

Reksoft invests heavily in content of its Training Center’s classes to ensure that the enrolled students have access to the most demanded technologies of today’s world. The last few months have seen a number of courses in Microsoft .Net and Java languages.

The present program includes SAP NetWeaver basics, introduction to R/3 Repository, SAP Flight Data Model, techniques of List Creation, advanced Techniques of List Processing, SapScripts, Communication Interfaces in ABAP, etc.

SAP practice was first introduced at Reksoft in mid-2007 with SAP team’s proven, hands-on experience in both SAP platform and ABAP development. Reksoft SAP Practice provides SAP consulting, ABAP development, and SAP Center of Expertise (CoE) services for SAP installations in the CEE and Russia/CIS regions. The offer targets enterprise customers and systems integrators.

Software Testing Knowledge Shared at Reksoft Training Center

Reksoft Software Engineering Training Center has finished its autumn term with two courses on testing techniques, held for Reksoft test engineers.

The company has been investing much into the constant proficiency of its human resources. Since testing has always been an integral part of software engineering projects at Reksoft, two trainings were launched for knowledge sharing among the test engineers.

The customized classes presented proven and practical techniques for testing software and included insights into unit testing. The recent classes at Reksoft Training Center included courses on .Net and Java technologies for St.Petersburg students.

Reksoft launched a new training course on .Net technology for St.Petersburg students.

Reksoft Training Center was established in 2001 and has been offering advanced technology classes for both Reksoft employees and students of senior university years. In the last two months the Training Center held .NET Code Access Security Training and Java & EMC Documentum classes.

The current course features .Net basics, XML and Web Services technologies and ADO.Net and has brought together a dozen of students from the leading technical colleges of St.Petersburg.

Reksoft Training Center Offers Java Classes for Best Tech Graduates in St.Petersburg

Since 2001 Reksoft has been offering free technical courses for students of St.Petersburg technical universities. The programmes span various technology courses, project management, quality assurance and testing classes. The students were offered the opportunity to join Reksoft after the successful completion of the programmes.

The October term of the Training Center started with a program on Java technology specially designed for the students of university senior years. The course will cover Java database, applications, and libraries as well as the basics of EMC Documentum platform. More than twenty students will be taught and tutored by the leading Reksoft project managers and senior software egineering during the month and a half course. After the final test, the best graduates will be offered job positions at Reksoft.

.NET Code Access Security Training

In the beginning of September Reksoft Training Center opened its doors to the new term and hosted an internal seminar on code security issues in Microsoft .NET.

The seminar covered .NET security overview, security policy, code access security and secure coding. Reksoft .NET engineers had the chance to open the discussion on evidence-based and code access security in this technology and to take a look at the examples of safety settings in projects.

In order to keep up with the continuous technology advances, Reksoft makes it its responsibility to provide its software engineering force with new trainings. The fresh knowledge from the seminar has already been applied in Reksoft projects.

The Influence of Context in Software Development and Product Design

Last week, Reksoft representatives attended the first open RIGHT seminar, held in Lappeenranta, Finland, titled "The Influence of Context on Software Development Practices: from Product Design to Release Planning and Process Improvement". The seminar covered a recent research study on the challenges a software company faces today, when the global push for outsourcing of software development and testing is so strong.

The academics from the Lappeenranta University of Technology, South Carelia Polytechnic, and Technology Business Research Center, made excellent presentations on the research conducted, on the case companies studied, the data collected, and commented on the observations made.

Among the not-so-much expected findings, concerning the troubles in software development outsourcing engagements, was the so-called ‘excessive customer orientation', where the contracted vendor is so much occupied with following the processes of its client, that all of its own guidelines and practices are completely forgotten. This gives us, vendors, little something to think about, doesn't it? :)
