Reksoft, an expert software outsourcing provider, announces the launch of a new development office in Voronezh. Keeping up with the expanding of the delivery capability, Reksoft chooses the most promising sourcing locations in Russia to open a software development center. Voronezh city, hosting 10 universities and about 40 R&D institutions, offers a considerable number of highly-qualified software developers for labour market each year. As one of the major reasons to find a subsidiary in Voronezh, Reksoft sees the relationships with the regional universities. "We selected Voronezh due to an abundant technical talent pool and moderate competition on the labor market,"- says Ekaterina Aludauri, Reksoft HR Director - "Software and test engineers in the new office have already undergone extensive adaptation trainings in our St.Petersburg facility, and we are confident that our Voronezh colleagues have taken to Reksoft corporate culture and working practices."

May 30th saw the celebration of 17th anniversary of Reksoft, St.Petersburg-based software outsourcing provider. The past year saw the company’s revenue doubled (up to 22.6 mln. USD) and the headcount drawing to 400. New blue chip companies such as bhn, NovaStor, First Data International, Tourgenius.ru joined the list of Reksoft valued clients looking for the high quality software development services and IT and outsourcing consulting. Reksoft celebrated its birthday at a full swing and brought together everyone from St.Petersburg, Moscow and foreign offices to the picturesque shore of the Gulf of Finland for the festivity. We appreciate all the help and support from the clients and partners, who selected Reksoft as the provider of professional software outsourcing services. We would like to take the opportunity to thank them for their choice and to confirm that we look forward to continuing our cooperation in the future.

Russoft Forum is the annual conference on software outsourcing from Russia and has traditionally been held in St. Petersburg, the country's technology hub. Bringing together both industry leaders, smaller companies and media/analysts, the forum is the place to get all the details on the Russian software outsourcing industry at the industry's meeting place. This year came as no exception, and Reksoft was among the key participants of the Russoft Forum (former ROSS), with Company's top executives speaking at five panels/round tables throughout the event. Ekaterina Zabelinskaya, Reksoft Director for Software and Services BU, was invited to speak at the "Product Engineering from Russia" Panel to disclose the company's vast experience with product development. Ms. Zabelinskaya also spoke at the "Maturing Outsourcing Engagements: higher complexity - new opportunities" roundtable, where she presented the Reksoft best practices in leveraging the local advantage through the set-up of Competence Centers for customers. Ekaterina also joined the "Nearshoring to Russia from Northern Europe" Panel, to share the information on the Reksoft services offer to the Nordic enterprises. Alexander Egorov, Reksoft CEO, ran the panel on the Russian successes of vertical expertise in Telecom. The panel presented the best cases of cooperation between Russian software development companies and customers from the Telco industry and involved both service and product providers from Russia with real life examples of success in the global market.
Not different from any other birthday, this year, Reksoft people came together to celebrate the sweet sixteen of our company. Staying in business and profitable for 16 consecutive years is pretty remarkable for the Russian software products and services environment. Reksoft had started as a software products company, building the Russian Internet giant Ozon.Ru - Russia's leading online outlet, Edelweiss - a property management system with over 1000 installations worldwide, Barsum - a call accounting system that currently serves over 4000 clients in Russia and CIS, and Assist.Ru - Russia's leading electronic payments gateway. Unbelievable, but true, Reksoft's every software product initiative proved to be a success, not just turning into complete software products and solutions (in different industrial verticals, too), but actually earning money for its creator. Reksoft took its ability to develop quality software products further, and turned this software-product-making ability into a business of its own. Today, Reksoft is among the leaders of the Russian software development outsourcing and custom software solutions segments, with the goal of becoming one of top five IT services providers in the region. Today, Reksoft is represented in four cities, three nations, and serve clients from over a dozen countries. We'd like to take this opportunity to give a hand to ourselves, and thank our partners and clients, for being with us all these years, since trust and appreciation go a long way together. We look to many more years to come :)
As if taking care of each other and customers was not enough, this week, Reksoft-men and women gathered to plant some flowers in front of our beautiful, now a year and three-months-old business center.
In the year gone we have pretty much settled in, thoroughly occupied the office parking lot, decorated the rooms, got to liking the home-baked cafeteria pastries. Last year, there was a bit of a concern over the preservation of the traditional Reksoft holidays, such as the grand New Year celebration, the jolly "gender" holidays, as well as the big Reksoft birthday party. Not to worry, we have managed to survive the change. This year, Reksoft is to celebrate its sweet sixteen and we are ready to welcome change, we may grow in numbers and volume, but will keep and spread the culture, we really are a team.
Reksoft made an appearance at the Brussels-hosted seminar on cooperation opportunities between Benelux and Russian software companies. A number of leading Russian offshore software development services providers had participated in the seminar, along with representatives of the Russian Software Developers Association (RUSSOFT) and Agoria - Belgium's largest employer's association. The seminar was held at the residence of the Russian consul general in Brussels. The consul hosted a fruitful discussion panel, garnished by cocktails and a buffet. Among the topics covered was the industrial strength of Belgian financial software, in respect to the tremendous growth and expansion of the Russian banks, and the attractiveness of the Russian financial market for Belgian software vendors. On the other hand, the Russian custom software development vendors had a lot to offer to the Benelux market, stressing the benefits of their nearshore location, with its easy communication, good timing, low total cost of engagement, and shared cultural background, the usual. A few obstacles on the way of full-fledged cooperation were also identified: the difficulty of obtaining, say, Belgian visas for Russian nationals; the timid and shy marketing of Russian software vendors; and the relative petitness of the Benelux companies, when referring to the volume of work they are capable of outsourcing. It is worth to be mentioned that of all the Russian companies present at the seminar, Reksoft was the only one having real hands-on experience of working with Benelux companies, such as with Gillam Fei and Novadoc.
This year, Hannover hosted a CeBIT devoted to Russo-German relations. And the usual half-a-million visitors came to examine the 6000 exhibitors, and at doing so, were given a chance to follow the ‘Matreshka Way' - a PR campaign, organized by the Russian Ministry of IT and Communications, where visitors had to make stops at numerous Russian stands and collect ‘pieces' of Matreshkas. Reksoft, being a Russian software development and systems integration company, too had a stand at CeBIT 2007, and not just one, but a couple. Throughout the seven days of CeBIT, a team of eight Reksoft Sales, Marketing, Account, and ‘other' Managers, held strong defense at our RUSSOFT and Deutsche Messe stands. Reksoft CEO Alexander Egorov, made a joint presentation at the Nearshoring Summit with one of the client-company's top officials - Werner Fischer, Executive Vice President of IT of Springer Science+Business Media. Overall, it was good to be at the fair, as Russians say "to see the people and to show yourself". Reksoft brought back a few dozens of new contacts, got a feel for the latest ICT marketing trends, and of course, team-builded :)
We are not just thinkers, but we are doers too. We do many things, we ski, for instance. This year, Reksoft held its traditional company-wide Ski Tournament on the second Friday of March. There were four groups: ski-women, ski-men, ski-children, and snowboard-mixed. There was a decent crowd of supporters, the IT professionals who've come to cheer for their comrades on slopes. There were sandwiches, juice, and many tender moments of bonding and team building. Next, we think to bring our clients along and get them involved into the Reksoft corporate team-spirit-building activities :)
Russia has two special holidays to celebrate: February 23rd and March 8th. The 23rd was once upon a time set aside as a day to celebrate the Army and the Navy professionals, but on the country-wide scale turned out to be a holiday for all the boys and men. The 8th is the culmination of the international women's month, and is a day for showing special appreciation to women and girls. Since on both dates, we, Russians, get a day off-work, Reksoft men and women came together to celebrate each other on the 22nd and the 7th. Many Russian IT companies show a swelling portion of women on staff, and Reksoft is no different with approximately 35% women among its 350 employees, the majority of whom are technical experts. We historically prepare the parties in-house, applying the additional talents we have at work. With the girls being the first to throw a party, plus still being less in numbers, we had to start preparations as early as the beginning of January, right after the New Year holidays. The girls put together a day of fun, ‘western style', aside from the wild-wild-west entourage, costumes, cowboy games, and cows to be earned, the ‘Reksoft boys' were treated to an evening bar, performances, pizza, and dancing. The boys did not let us down either, and on top of the usual candy treats, we got the opportunity to be the stars we deserve to be. Yes, they boys did a Star Search contest for us, and to top it off, there was a live plug-in performance in Reksoft cafeteria by a Reksoft-man and a city-wide-known showman, Vladimir Burkovsky and his band. What's next? Tune in to read about our coming celebration: Reksoft is to turn the sweet sixteen this May, come on, join us for the fun! :) Check out our photo-report: Reksoft Team on February 23rd, Reksoft Team on March 8th
